“Fun Learning on Simply Smiling”™️ is what I strive to improve in communities and schools.

I am a South Carolina native, a loving wife, and a mother of two children. As an awarding-winning and best-selling author, a dental professional, and philanthropist, my main focus gears toward the need for children’s dental health and representation for cultural diversity in rural communities.

I attended Greenville Technical College and received my degrees in Dental Hygiene, Applied Health Science, and a diploma in Dental Assisting.  Since 2008, I have had the opportunity to serve countless joyful patients.

Delightedly, I am known as the “Pediatric Tooth Fairy,” who is passionate about oral care education. I’ve started my mission by providing clinical dental care to children and adults in dental settings. Using my knowledge and compassionate heart for dentistry, I was determined to think outside the box and actively give back to society. I was excited to create children’s dental books that support my vision and goals in breaking cultural and economic barriers in homes and schools.

I published my first children’s book, “Fuzzy Tooth Critters,” and my most recently released book “Mila’s Big Day, First Dental Visit,” to not only bring dental awareness but to ease the fear of dental visits.

During my spare time, I take pride in volunteering, serving as a board member for non-profit organizations, and spending quality time with family and friends.

“Create your story, have fun telling it, and inspire others to do the same.” – LaTonya Butler

Alongside my daughter, Lauren Butler, we wrote the children’s dental book, “Fuzzy Tooth Critters.” “Fuzzy Tooth Critters” received the 2019 Creative Child Magazine Book of the Year award. It is a bilingual informative children’s story that teaches children about sugar bugs (dental plaque bacteria) and discusses the pros and cons of proactive daily oral care. Our “Fuzzy Tooth Critters” dental book is a story parents and children can learn and gain knowledge about healthy teeth and gums.
